Meet Carol.
Carol’s the main character. She’s a corporate warrior who’s been stuck in customer service for six years. She’s tough, witty, intelligent, and a futurist. She believes that technology is what will save us.
I wanted to avoid a lead who was “comic book hot”. I told Derrick that she could be pretty but not oversexualized. I need someone who can be tough and intelligent and have depth–but for us to be able to believe it.

Today I learned that I am 100% introverted. I’ve been at around people non-stop for 3 days and I am about to lose it.
Tomorrow I have one meeting in the morning, then I’m going home and not coming out for 24 hours.

This whole stupid country is bored! There’s no life in it, or color, or fun! It’s probably just as well the Russians are going to drop a nuclear bomb on us any day now. So my choice is to do something hard and boring, or to marry my… Jew, and go to Paris and Rome and listen to jazz, and read, and eat good food in nice restaurants, and have fun! It’s not enough to educate us anymore Ms. Walters. You’ve got to tell us why you’re doing it.
